Great Pics, I love that first one and third, I wish I had my camera there. There was a great shot when Mt Helena 3.4 was shooting a jet up to the stag and it look like it was shooting over Parky 3.4, and the tree was all lit up, it looked great! I had to laugh when there was about 12 people with torches looking for some fire and only about 2 people on hoses.

Regards
Sam

Don't worry Fastlane, you should have seen the area's where I took my 300D and still survived. I really test my camera's reliability.

Even with IS, thats an impressive effort for a handheld shot, given the shutter speed.

Do you find you get enough zoom out of the 85 to make it good for the fireground? Although I'm not yet in the market for a lens upgrade, I'm trying to figure out what to get, bigger, like a 70-200 L, and stick with the smaller kit lens for now, or the other way around...

nice shots anyway

Well I have the 10-20mm, 17-85mm, 50-500mm and a 2x extender, so I am covered. Where my camera is, all my stuff goes with it. As for the 85mm it does its job. If there is any doubt that I need more zoom, out comes the big bazzoka lens ;)
