Great photos Tom! Thanks.

What is it though about UK police cars and ugly paint jobs? :-)

Hi Gav,

Yeah still haven't made my opinion up yet. I still have plently more to post yet.

WA Police cars are all beginning to look the same to me, if it wasn't for the VE Commodores being released next Monday and rumours of a few Fords hitting the streets I'd probably go and find another hobby!

Although I'd love to see a drag race between the legendary CD507 and one of those Volvo V70's..

cheers

You might not say that when you see the new VE Commodore!

Besides in America they have proper CHEVROLETS and cars with bigger motors.

WAPOL cars are alright, they just look the same to me now.

cheers

Here's a few shots of a Skoda traffic car that was on display also including is some of the 'gear' that these blokes carry around with them and a stingers for those who have never seen one.

Skoda used to be the 'butt-of-all-jokes' a few years ago as they were such dreadful cars, now they are owned by Volkswagon I'm 'assured' they are a bit better...

They're not ugly, they are VISIBLE. Nice luminous yellow with blue, all reflective, and good quality LED Lightbars (on most of them at least).

So good, that even the Swedish are changing the livery of their police cars to the battenburg design:

i must admint that I DO like the design, but even from an objectve point of view the design great as it is just plain visible!

Our Highway cars are slowly getting there though ;)

Those Volvo stationwagons are deceptively powerful. Saw a TV show where they pitted one against a Ford Crown Victoria (standard V8 US Police car).

The two were pretty evenly matched. The Volvo sucked at tight cornering because it was a FWD but its turbo meant it was easily able to keep up with the V8 on a 1/4 mile dash.

wow, I would have thought the volvo would have had waaaay better handling than the american cruiser with its springy suspension. But then again I've never driven the saab before, and just sticking it in to the "european car" category.
Bet the saab win the fuel economy comp though :)
