PTV13 is brand new as the old one is sitting out the back of SJA HQ, waiting for a refit for a first aid post

Just found this whilst going thru some photos.

Was taken in March last year, so SJA obviously has more than 2 Landcruisers.

Maybe they have an incar TV :P

and that truck will be redundant as a USAR truck before long if it isn't already, there are 2 USAR containers custom built which sit at Maddington Fire Station (They're now currently at Forrie TC, for an upcoming ex.) which are used for USAR, and more are on order I believe its another 4. Then they just need some hook trucks to transport them.

FRS already has a hook truck which is called the pod carrier which they use to shift the containers around
Parked up at Malaga, isn't it?

Technically the SET's are also PODs, correct?

as far as i know the 2 that sit at forrestfield have always been there
and both the sets have the removable back on them so they can be changed for the usar container

That's them, and nope they're not ment to live there as such, I think they've been there for a while now because of this excerise coming up. Don't know why they need them up there that early. I knew they had at least one but I think they were looking at getting a couple more, or at least when they initially wanted the pods built, they were going to be done in QLD to a different system. FESA didn't like that and managed to get them built in WA so that any hook truck can pick it up which would be a scania if they get more.

Damn it Tom. I drove passed the USAR truck between RPH and the ABC yesterday. We must have been close at some stage  and some of those SJA buses are the ones i was filming just before you got there.
