Great shots... Seems a bit ironic to have it white though considering the ore dust situation up there. Any particular reason why it's not red like most? It'd have to be washed frequently :)

Weird, Fire and Rescue appliances here in Canberra are green and BFS appliances are Yellow and White.

They may have white because they are a combined VFRS and BFS brigade and also it might have been cooler (temperature-wise) than a red one.

we are Fire Services which covers BFS and FRS instead of of having two sets of gear, and two sets of painfull paperwork we now have one the paperwork is still a pain. but we still survive and have fun.

besides a mostly white truck is more visible than an already red truck, and yes i know it's a different red but still! And they don't take much to wash, just need a 38mm hose on a hydrant, or take it out of the pump if you haven't been using the pump much, then just top up the pump.

Word was (and this is just rumour from a few years ago) was that when the vehicle was built they had the choice of it in white or red. Being white instead saved money on respraying of the cab, and 'allegedly' the saved funds were given to the brigade to spend on other gear.

I know there was alot said about this at the time.. back then the appliance was definately Fire & Rescue (had the logos on it as well). Have the picture somewhere..

when our brigade was notified that a Scania was being built for us, the members asked if it could be white, and so it happened.
