Be careful. They sometimes get a bit shirty if you get too close, esp when they are refuelling !

hence why I didn't go up last time, and of course I'd wait till they weren't doing something like refilling/refuelling. Knowing my luck something bad would happen, and I'd get the blame

Firstly can i reiterate that i took these pictures whilst working for a major TV station, AND i did make myself known to the Air Base Manager and crews, AND i did ask permission, AND i did ask where i could go and how close i could get while choppers were operational.

Not that i'm suggesting any of our forum members would deliberately jeopardise any operation, but that there is a procedure by which access can be gained if you are polite and explain your self and ask permission.

Secondly celestial, the video was shot using ABCTV equipment and the tape has been handed over for archiving. Unfortunately i wouldn't have been able to to play the tape anyway, nor would i have had copyright permission.
