I found the iCom Pro-400 holds an extra 48 channels (88 in total).
I'm confused by all this, think I'm going to keep my Uniden UHF for the moment..
The ic400pro can be programmed to accept the new CB channels (tx/rx) so you won't need to upgrade that at all.
There quite a few people around with the software/cable too... or you could get it done by an Icom dealer once the new channels come into effect.

i have a benelec land mobile unit in my car, i noticed it has the option of 25hz/12.5hz spacing, would this not mean it supports the new channels?

The Benelec radios are Vertex (Yaesu) units in diguise. They are more than capable of the new channels.

i was TX on ch 24, and my mate could pick me up on 23! should ch 24 be reserved aswell?
