Call signs

Hiya
I am just getting back into this after a long time absent, and am wondering about call signs, we used to just make one up, like years ago my callsign was November Echo,. has any of this changed...etc HELP Please!!

I assume you mean on CB? Callsigns may be made up there (I don't know because I don't listen) but licences for CB haven't been required for years now. The phonetic alphabet (alpha, bravo, charlie etc) haven't changed.

I am a CBer both UHF and HF 11m. I'm a member of the Perth Radio Club and all our members use call signs but the majority of CB users on UHF these days just use each others names or nick names. On 27 megs HF, call signs are always used by everyone. Hence I have persisted with 11m.
