Have you made sure the safety catch has been released? It doesn't sound like it.

What you need to do is open the battery cover then poke a paperclip or safety pin in the small hole that you will see. Move it from side to side until you feel the catch, then yank it backwards towards the casing until you hear a little click and that should do it.

Uhhh...? :-)

Refuse, just because you can hear someone, it doesn't necessarily mean that they can hear you. Handhelds use far less power than full-size radios and the other stations may simply not be able to hear you.

We're more than happy to help, refuse. But it would be helpful if you used sentences, commas etc in your posts since I haven't got a clue what you're talking about here.

I have that exact same CB. Very nice unit.

Firstly, where are you located suburb wise?

Second, for channels 1-8 which are repeaters you need to hit the repeater active button that should throw up a little arrow or something say for channel 1. What that does is receives on Ch1, and transmits to the repeater on Ch31.

Let me know what else you need to know.

Be advised that Toottoot was just taking the piss as well.

Scotch. Double Malt.

Also make sure its not on low power mode (the low button and should come up on screen). Low is 2W and normal is 5W.

The other local repeater is Ch8 too.

You just talk on Ch1 and thats it. The radio internally transmits on 31 and receives on 1.

EDIT: As long as you have the repeater button activated with the little triangle in the bottom right corner.
