A have to agree with Gavin as well on that one. When I read you stating "100% legal because my mate is a VK6 operator and this how you can QSO around the world" I almost fell off my chair.
Even if the Prime Minister setup a repeater on a non designated 1-8 channel and not registered, its still an illegal act.

Re: Legal Transmissions
Hiighly illegal. This form of Packet does not conform with the LCD's set by ACMA. The only form of Telemetry available to CBRS users is on Ch22/23 to control apparatus - not speech...Avtur50_exVet wrote:G'day,

The mate who owns the repeater is Russ and he is on 17 UHF CB

The old saying "One day your going to get caught..." springs to mind for some reason

Im not trying to cause conjecture or start an argument or anything Im just telling you exactly what happened. The facts are....
I phoned up the ACMA and asked to speak to someone in regards to UHF CB regulations and asked them about the whole gateway issue, and the officer I spoke to who's name I wont publish stated:
"The ACMA is aware of its existance but can not find any grounds to take any action at present and wont take any action until further legislation comes into effect to the contrary."
So it would appear it is NOT "Highly Illegal"

If ACMA read their own documents they would see that:
