Programming in a private frequency?
Just would like to know any issues in this type of setup. one buys a couple of radios that can be programmed to any commercial frequency, then programs a frequency thats not found on a frequency search site for the area so that these can be used for a more private way of a group of people having a chat without using any of the normal 40 UHF channels.

Nope. You can't just pick a channel that you think is free and start using it. It's illegal to do this under the Radiocommunications Act and the penalties are pretty stiff...MidKnight123 wrote:Just would like to know any issues in this type of setup. one buys a couple of radios that can be programmed to any commercial frequency, then programs a frequency thats not found on a frequency search site for the area so that these can be used for a more private way of a group of people having a chat without using any of the normal 40 UHF channels.
