Hoping someone could give me a run down about getting a private UHF channel, as for the costs.
Its basically only for personal use. Im sick and tired of the idiots that have no life and sit on a repeater channel and talk shit all day while they stuff it up for everyone else. so wondering about the setup of being able to have my own private channel to use.

Re: Costs for a Private Channel?
You could lease a "slot" on a commercial community repeater (many people use the repeater but the different lessees can't hear each other) for a couple dollars a month. You'd need to buy/lease commercial two-ways to do it though.MidKnight123 wrote:Hoping someone could give me a run down about getting a private UHF channel, as for the costs.

Otherwise, there's always amateur radio

Depends on the company you lease from. If their repeater is well-sited then you'll get good coverageMidKnight123 wrote:I would prefer to stick to UHF for now, as thats all my mates have. The units i can program to transmit on other frequencys. so where would the best place to look at leasing a slot ?
and what sort coverage would be available, the same as the public repeater?
I'd give a company like Mobilemasters a call.

I wouldn't pay much more for a slot on a community repeater, myself, but I suppose I'm spoilt for choiceMidKnight123 wrote:the lease cost is just abit more than a few dollars a week, its far too expenise for personal use
