Channel 1 and 8 repeaters?

Post by Bonez »

I've been out of the UHF CB scene for a long time and just dug my old GME TX6000 out of the bottom of a box and charged it up. From Yokine, I can hear channel 3 but not get into it, and I can hit channel 4 ok, but 1 and 8 seem dead to me. I know for a fact that 8 in the city if it were up, should be giving a very strong signal.

Anyone know if 1 and 8 are still around? I checked the licenses on the ACMA database and they are current, but just wondering if anyone knows if/how long they have been down, or if in fact they are still up?

Cheers

1 was still around the other day when I was playing with my CB. Pretty sure I heard 8 but not 100%.

"Negative VKI, my desk is bolted to the floor".

Thanks guys, I was playing around again this morning and realised when testing last night I had the radio on low power (1w). When I upped it to 5w, I can now hit channel 1 fine.

Anyone know if there's an ETA on Ch8 coming back up?

I heard it on Tuesday night, it was faint, but audible on PER08

I was out on my handheld, so I had no recording gear of it.

Want me to record PER08 and see if I can catch it?
