Just as a heads up Between June - to - November 2011, Aeroquest Airborne will be conducting a low level fixed wing geophysical survey from just outside of Perth to Dalwallinu and east to Bencubbin and Kellerberrin

*Edit*
Great to see today that most of the flights resumed and the backlog of flights processed with airlines putting additional capacity on to move everyone around.

All times below are UTC

Re: June July August Sightings
Great to see all airlines are back to normal operating schedule, with some airlines adding / talking about placing more additional flights to move the backlog of passengers.
The Charter turboprops are slowly gearing back into schedule as some of the flights were canceled, contrary to the belief they they would continue to fly during the ash cloud. It will be interesting to see if these groups will see an increased flying schedule over the next couple of days to get rid of the backlog that they might have with shift changeovers due.
For the record the last time Perth had an Ash Cloud was way back in 1991, certainly something we don't see every day!

Re: June July August Sightings
To what statement wf?
The issue for the tubo props is not the ash, they cam still operate below FL150 although not prefered it can be done.
Its to do with air space classes and ATC services, over East where They have radar coverage from CNS to ADL along the coast, the controlled airspace lower levels are lower, with class A down to FL 180, and class E down to 8500 ft, below that is outside CTA
In Perth out radar coverage is approx 200 nm from Perth out side radar coverage the airspace levels change, A LL is now FL245, E LL is now FL180 and any thing below that is class G, or non controlled airspace. Operators don't want to operate in that airspace with out seperation services provided by ATC
Larger aircraft have ADS-b which is similar to radar, which is why intl operators can still come in under and around the cloud, and still have ATC services.

Re: June July August Sightings
Oh you changed your wording? It did read on Tuesday "Charter Turboprops will continue to fly" oh well, never mind.AO11912 wrote:To what statement wf?
It will be interesting to see if over the next couple of days if the Charter companies see an increased flying schedule to rectify the FIFO runs that were cancelled. As I am to understand that there are still quite a few companies up north with crew sitting around/ unable to continue work as they have exceeded their allowed work time.
Anyway, enough of my ramblings...

If I changed it, my post would show edited by, like it does at the bottom of your other post.
I guess they would, Wednesday Thursday is usually the change over day for most FIFO.
