I suspect the doughnut in the front is a shield to prevent air being forced through the compressor.

There is a protective cover put on the leading edge of the nose cowl and also the compressor inlet. This is due to FOD damage and also to streamline the airflow a little better and reduce drag. Also the compressor cover is to stop the inner turbine from turning as there is no oil lubricating the shaft and can cause damage.

Hi Nathan, the USAF have a Base at Dieago Garcia ICAO FJDG they use as a stepping stone into Iran Afghanistan ect

It is an Atoll south of India

Perth is a Tech Stop for Fuel ect

Just spotted on the movement sheet - VH FVL, one of virgin's ATR72s, is coming to perth - due in around 1300 for the international terminal (probably bay 50 or 56).
