That was the rumour heading around the mills a few months ago, QF do have the aircraft currently sitting all white in Avalon.Nafenn wrote:Overheard today that Alliance is getting a Boeing 737 around the 10th of Feb. Apparently it will be doing the PER - KTA - PER run.

Re: General Aviation Discussion
Unfortunately the ship has sailed for the middle east and Australian based airlines, and they know it too, they never thought it would take off (pardon the pun) as much as it did, that being said, QF are not sitting on their hands and just cutting routes.written_ficton wrote: Qantas and a few other carries should take a leaf out of their book instead of sitting on their hands or cutting routes!
Airlines that dont currently operate in to DXB DOH and AUH ect cant get in, they cant get slots, they cant get ground handling or terminal space, or compete with such low costs that EK and EY have, Example EK Cabin crew get AUD$997.93 a MONTH! Source.
So basically Airlines like Qantas have been locked out of the Middle east.
Cutting routes... QF only cut 2 international routes, in fact they haven't cut them, they are just not putting their own aircraft on them, you can still fly these routes by booking QF, you just wont be on a QF Jet for some of the route.
A lot of people say there is no level playing field, but what does this mean, this means that the Australian government, would be the one to blame if things went sour at QF or any other Australian airline, that is because the Government allows any overseas airline to come in and operate routes out of Australia, this doesn't much happen else where, and for a lower rate of tax.

There's an article on Hack A Day about Warsug member Balint's aviation mapper. Balint also gave us the site for viewing ACMA licences layered on google maps

The 27th of April saw the last flight for Skywest out to Cloudbreak for FMG, This contract is now a QF flight number, operated by Network Aviation F100's Departing from Qantas Terminal 2, This is about 20 flights a week to Cloudbreak.
Network have also been breeding F100's down the back corner, with a fleet of 6, up from the 2 they had been running with for a long time.

Skywest has applied to operate Airbus A320 services between Broome and Singapore; and more flights will be considered from the Pilbara to the East Coast of Australia
