Hi, I know this has been covered to some extend before, but what is the single, best place for a bit of spotting at Perth?
I'm arranging a trip for Saturday.
Thankyou,

Re: Plane Spotting at Perth
I think the RWY 21 mound may be un accessible, they are currently re surfacing TWY W east of 21, and they are dumping the product in that area, so there is alot of trucks operating in and out of that location.
The mound is here http://www.nearmap.com/?q=@-31.9257344, ... d=20101118
You Park here and walk around the track http://www.nearmap.com/?q=@-31.921429,1 ... d=20101118
Construction trucks are entering Airside at the gate to the east, and dumping the loads to the west of the creak

I wasn't concerned about the fact that it was accessible, more so the movement of heavy vehicles in that area, also security may take a 2nd look at the moment, as they have a gate open all the time for ease of access for the trucks.Helitak_670 wrote:kirk, it's still there and accessable via a long walk.

Re: Plane Spotting at Perth
the gate may be open yes, but there is always a security/safety vehicle stationed there. So there is no chance of anyone getting airside. you aslo shouldn't have any drama's either if your on top of the mound.

Thankyou for all the suggestions, were tossing up with either the mound, or a spot slightly further north that we found on google earth.

Hmmm... I wouldn't say it was of Tonkin Highway, it was down an abandoned road off Horrie-Miller drive.Helitak_670 wrote:spartacus, I take it that the 03 one was off Tonkin hwy?

Thankyou for the links. I was aware of aviationwa, but not jetspotter, I'll have a look around there now.
EDIT: I'm not entirely happy with the photos, but here are some to sort of show the view

Re: Plane Spotting at Perth
That is correct, I did post a link to google maps above.
And if anyone wants a giggle, zoom to 100m, and head over to the international terminal and have a look at the South African A340.

Re: Plane Spotting at Perth
The 'old road' which everyone is refering to is the former Hardy Rd which used to link back to Belmont.
