RFDS - Arrival at YPJT today

I think I got Jandakot code wrong, but RFDS jet from Rio Tinto is due to arrive today

Yes, it's slightly manic here today. :)

RIO has been doing operations all week getting crews up to operational status.

Hopefully there will be some good coverage on the news tonight judging by all the media here.

Fingers x'ed that RIO stops when it should when poking it's nose into the hanger! :lol:

RIO has been doing operations all week getting crews up to operational status.
RIO dont have crews for the aircraft... These are Maroomba crews

RIO is the call sign of the plane I was referring to, not RIO-TINTO or the contractor Maroomba.
I should have made that clearer, sorry.

i hope not... would be great if it was based at Jandakot!

Saw it come in while i was out prepping a plane to go flying myself... loooks nice!

While the RFDS owned jet will visit our Jandakot Airport base, it requires jet specific, permanent infrastructure at Perth Airport, which Maroomba can provide

I wouldnt be suprised that in the near future all RFDS would be based out of Perth airport. Quicker response times for patient arrival would be benefical and a dedicated hanger with Maroomba at YPPH

I honestly can't see that happening anytime soon - RFDS have only just finished building a spankin' new building at Jandakot ...
