Today, being bored in the runway cafe, the WAAC Class A09 had a listen into the ATIS, and we had a bit of a chuckle at the apparently "Aussi Phonetic Alphabet"

"Jandakot Information Australia..."
"Jandakot Information Barbeque..."
"Jandakot Information Cricket..."
"Jandakot Information Dingo..."
"Jandakot Information Goanna..."
"Jandakot Information How'zat..."

i missed what Echo was.

if anyone wants to have a listen in: 120.90, or (08) 9476 8755

*bump*

considering this is sort of to do with the Phonetic Alphabet...

Useless peice of information for today: Airports ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) only use the Phonetics from Alpha to Yankee. This is because Zulu is reserved for when the air traffic controll tower is closed.

eg: "Jandakot Information Zulu, Jandakot Tower is closed until 2300 UTC ..."
