I guess this is an aviation sighting. Spotted 16 paratroopers over Swanbourne today at 12.30 Of course my camera was elsewhere.

Large , khaki four-engined military (I think) jet seen flying low and slow over my place.
Took off from Perth airport.

From where I saw it (outside the library at Curtin University) it appeared to be a C-17. Was definitely big, grey and noisy enough to be! As it was still upwind when I saw it, and I lost sight due to trees, I'm not sure as to which direction it departed in.

Cheers,
Sarah

That would explain why I heard the RAAF VHF airband frequencies suddenly come to life yesterday afternoon!

Also in the paper the other day it mentioned the latest batch of 16 pilots had graduated from 2FTS at Pearce, so I guess that was them.

Is there going to an April thread?

Until there is, I just saw a 2 engined passenger jet fly very high over Perth.
