The information we know thus far is that the aircraft will arrive into Perth at approx 08.00hrs (WST) and depart at 12.00 Noon (WST) on Tuesday 14th October. (SUBJECT TO CHANGE) and is planned to park on ITB bays 60 & 61 directly opposite the International Terminals gates. It is also rumoured that the public viewing deck may be closed for a function.

Landing is not the issue, aircraft use less runway for landing than take offdonks wrote:sorry for the ignorance.... but i thought the A380 could not land at Perth?? The take off distance required for a A380 at MOTOW (max take off weight) is 2750 M
Runway 03/21 at Perth is 3444M so operationally a A380 could take off at Perth at MOTOW
The A380 needs 2050M for landing at MLW (minimum landing weight)

Sydney Rwy 16R/34L 3962M
Melbourne Rwy 16/34 3657M
Adelaide Rwy 05/23 3100M
Brisbane Rwy 01/19 3560M
Darwin Rwy 11/29 3354M
Canberra Rwy 35/17 3283M
That means the order is
Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane Perth, Darwin Canberra, Adelaide
That means the A380 can fit most runways in Australia even at MOTOW take off
Estimated arrival
Estimated 0800 Oct 14, and be early on the south end of the International terminal where the public swings and BBQ are,,take left side road to Menzies freight and then turn right to the grass area. you wont get any closer than that. and listen to Arrivals first on 123.7 , then Tower Freq 120.5 then Ground on 121.7 but I would be inclined to stay on the tower freq, either end of runway 21/03 you will see her comming, depends on what call sign she uses, jjAO11912 wrote:Well you dont know what runway he will Land on in till you see the ATIS for that day but i can say it would be one of rwy 03 or rwy 21
And i would say early morning
Information just in, Qantas A380 Call sign will be arrival QF6006 and departure will be QF6012 jj

I'll be on the lookout that morning. Hopefully it lands on 03, my work is directly ~150-200ft under approach to 06 but down the road I can see arrivals to 03. Fingers crossed.
"VKI, NJ050 will you be attending the job?"
