Could have been dangerous with those fuel trucks metres away.
I've closed the door!

Two people were injured when a light aircraft struck problems soon after landing at Jandakot airport this afternoon.

It is understood the undercarriage failed as the plane landed just after 2pm and it swerved off the runway. Initial reports said the plane crashed on landing.

The pilot and passenger were slightly injured.

The plane was a privately owned single engine Mooney aircraft.
An ambulance was called and people were treated at the scene but none was taken to hospital.

Both Aircraft were Mooney M20Cs, the One today was VH-ERE, and VH-SKK was the previous.

Any more info? I just went for a drive on the international apron, looks like all ops normal, all fire trucks are in the station, all safety officers are asleep under trees.

The West Australian reported that it was a mis-hearing of a PA announcement in the terminal. Someone thought they heard "delays due to a collision on the tarmac" when what was actually said was "delays due to congestion on the tarmac"... :P
