Re: WA Aviation Incidents and Accidents
DJ1721 (VH-ZPH - an Embraer 190) had a bird strike after takeoff this morning. Returned to the bay. Aircraft sustained "minor" engine damage (a couple of bent fan blades), but landed with both engines opperational.

Aussie 451 declaring PAN
Just heard 'Aussie 451' declare PAN on 133.9 due to number 1 engine failure. Currently tracking direct to Pearce. Bit of interesting listening for a Friday morning!

Pretty sure "Aussie" is a generic RAAF callsign that gets used for international operations. http://members.optusnet.com.au/ventmond ... lsigns.htmNafenn wrote:Something you dont hear every day. Re: WA Aviation Incidents and Accidents
Was something with 2 engines, not sure exactly what though. Made it safely back to Pearce with services required when it landed. Last I heard they were in contact with Pearce approach at 5000ft.

Re: WA Aviation Incidents and Accidents
How sure are you, it may be in Qantas Link colours, however However Cobham have the contract to provide the staff and Engineering for the 717 Fleet, so therefore WF is right, it is Cobhams problematic Aircraftnumloxx wrote:It's not Cobham's Aircraft, it's Qantas'.
The aircraft is leased, its neither Qantas' or Cobhams, but Cobham (Formally National jet Systems) are the registered operators.
