There's been a suspect package found at the International Terminal, which is being evacuated.
Police have blocked Horrie Miller Drive and are not letting anyone through.
There's also a Jetstar plane (I think he said) returning to Perth with hydraulic problems, just to add to the fun.

Tarmac
Well whats the worry to people in the Terminal if its out on the tarmac, its fallen off a baggage trolly or a air side worker has not loaded it aboard an Aircraft, common practise when I worked for Qantas years ago.Bonez wrote:More info: http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0 ... 48,00.html

* The Air New Zealand flight that had arrived just as all this started was towed to aerobridge 16 in terminal three, and a temporary customs, immigration and quarantine area has been set up.
* An OzJet flight that was behind the AirNZ flight has been sent to bay 17.
* A Tiger Airways flight is due at around 9pm and is likely to also be sent to terminal three for processing.
* Qantas have advised all their international passengers to go home and check with reservations regarding rescheduling flights.

Re: Tarmac
Well since we're not there, we can't possibly know. But I wouldn't imagine they'd go to all this trouble just for the hell of it.jasonjag wrote:Well whats the worry to people in the Terminal if its out on the tarmac, its fallen off a baggage trolly or a air side worker has not loaded it aboard an Aircraft, common practise when I worked for Qantas years ago.Bonez wrote:More info: http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/story/0 ... 48,00.html

Went to AP domestic,,,all international AC being parked near domestic on Taxiways, the Night Cameraman who posts on here got through one road block on Horrie Millerr drive to 2nd one where stopped, told by security staff that a box was found stuck under the belly of Malaysian Airlines AC at north side finger, Baggage handlers got it down and placed it on Tarmac, Bomb Squad came and told all staff, engineers etc to get to hell out of there, no boxes were found in terminal as quoted by some one, continued broadcast on AIR freq 123.800 says runway 24 closed and only taxiways available ate J and B, all other Taxiways are blocked with parked AC, all AC told to park in position to power out as no tow available, we saw Singapore AC, Qantas both from Singapore parked way to left of Domestic, Emerites AC was parked mear domestic and buses transfered passengers to temp set up Customs in Domestic, same for Sigapore AC when it landes, all parked well away fron International, so stories vary, thats what we were told by Night Cameraman and Sunday Times cameraman at south end of Domestic filming the affected Malaysian AC 0220am sunday
