Home Made HF Antennas ?

My hobby is listening to HF Aviatiation, a few very active frequencies in my area are 5634, 8879, 6556, 11396, currently I’m just using a wire that is stung between 2 trees !
I would appreciate any idea for a better home made antenna

If you've got the space and you want to get adventurous you could look at a trapped dipole or G5RV antenna. (google for best results

An inverted vee antenna WITH a balun in the middle will reduce electrical interference/noise. This is very useful in areas that do not have underground power. You can either cut the antenna to the lowest frequency or a mid frequency. Or if you are really keen and have the room) have several length antennae (one for each frequency) off the same balun. A multiband antenna, no traps, electrically quiet and you dont need a tuner to match. Just a little bit of time, calculator, wire and a balun from DSE or Tower Communications or better still make it yourself with a suitable toroid core available from the same people.
