There has been a noticeable increase in Military traffic in Perth this past fortnight. Do you guys think this is related to the Airshow or do they have coinciding exercises going on off the coast?? Just today Ive seen a Sikorsky SeaHawk at low level on the river...Formations of Pc-9 using the call Voodoo ... Hawk trainers at low level and high speed.... and what i think was a KC-135 Tanker Aircraft , I base this assumption on obvious boeing lines and the tell tale black exhaust of the 707 series engines under load. I could be wrong. And yes I work outdoors 8)
Cant wait for the weekend!

Saw the USAF KC-10 land at Perth Airport from Midland yesterday. B1 bomber overflew South Perth not long ago with two escorts. Both are here for the airshow.

The RAN have anti-submarine exercises 7th to 18th Nov. Then RAN Warfare Officer training 21st to 25th. The F18s arriving soon will be for the airshow and second RAN exercise.

Hi guys,

A couple of frequencies for you to lsiten to.
Pearce Approach 130.2MHZ
Pearce NDB frequency 340KHZ
Pearce Tower 118.3MHZ
Pearce Ground 127.25 MHZ
Pearce Clearance Delivery 134.1MHZ
Pearce Departures 135.9 MHZ

Also
Perth Approach 123.6000
Perth Departures 118.7000

RAAF Roulettes 133.9000 Air To Air (Incorrect maybe? MEL CTR)
RAAF Roulettes 126.2000 Air To Air
RAAF Roulettes 257.1000 ATC
RAAF Roulettes 264.5000 ATC
RAAF Roulettes 268.8000 ATC
RAAF Roulettes 288.6000 ATC
RAAF Roulettes 325.8000 ATC
RAAF Roulettes 335.8000 ATC
RAAF Roulettes 338.5000 ATC
RAAF Roulettes 375.4000 ATC

The above Roulettes frequencies listed use Amplitude Modulation. The VHF frequencies are used between pilots at the Air Show, Grand Prix etc and the UHF frequencies are used for comms with RAAF Military bases and non-Roulette military aircraft.

I dont have any other frequencies, any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Roulettes use 133.9 as an air-to-air frequency in other states, but with it being a local MEL CTR frequency I'm informed they'd revert to 126.2.

An event like this really calls for putting the scanner on to 'search' between 118 mhz and 136 mhz (or 225 and 400 if your radio does it) and seeing what you find (and then of course sharing it with this group!).
