Aircraft down

Missed the news so i dont know if it was on but a light aircraft went down yesterday arvo/evening. Dont have much info and I forgot where it was but the details I have are:
Emergency beacon was set off then no more contact
The plane was a kit built one
The pilot is ok
He lit a fire and was camping out where he was until rescues could locate him
Anyone have any info on this?
