I have just been advised that the 2 heavy water bombers from Victoria are inbound to Pearce this morning:
BMBR390 (C130) ETA 1055
BMBR391 (RJ85) ETA 1135

Indeed, I know the person who suggested them be sent. It happened fast.

Goood call whoever did... the smaller bombers down there are struggling with the intensity of the fire aparently

I presume for the Northcliffe fire that these would be operated out of Busselton?

It depends on how much runway they need... if need be they will operate out of Perth.

That will make for a very long turnaround time. Busselton is in the process of upgrading the runway and facilities. I think Busselton is able to handle these planes, and has enough reloaders and runway to deal with them, and is much closer to the incident.

Busselton gets a regular F100 service from Perth then onward's to the mines.
An RJ85 is probably a better STOL aircraft than the F100.

We just got a request for reloaders at Busselton for these planes. Was too late responding, and missed out. Heading there now for a look.

That's a fat, fat plane. I love it.
It reminds me of thunderbirds.
