According to Jetspotter, Channel 10 use a Bell 206B JetRanger III (rego VH-ZMN) leased from Heliwest.

She has hit the ground very hard. The people inside are very lucky to have survived that with minor injuries by the looks of it.

First TV pilot I've seen wearing a helmet. Bet he's glad he was.

I am pretty sure when you do "airworks" you have to wear a helmet.

Well I won't deny it's many years since I last did camerawork from a chopper, so I guess it's been brought in since then.

I'd put that down to bad luck, I'm guessing they previously didn't use Heliwest as they said this was their first incident. Most likely not the same pilot either. Only thing in common is the type of work, and hovering around isn't exactly stressful enough that you see news choppers falling out of the sky all the time.

Correct. There is no common issue across the incidents.

Technically channel 10 has never had a chopper crash, they don't own any helicopters. They lease the helicopters, and smack a channel 10 logo on the side

But the people on board, other than the pilot, are employees of Channel Ten. The pilots are an important part of the newsroom, they're colleagues, nothing technical about it. Let me tell you from experience there is not much worse than dispatching a chopper and a news crew to a story and having it not return.
