Ive just got back into scanning after a few years away and have found in Geraldton 121.200 is very active with traffic from all country areas and Melbourne Control.

How does that work now on aviation bands? Is everything now controlled from Melbourne?

Once you leave the Perth Approach/Departures area, pretty much.

Victor, if you're in Geraldton you might also want to try 126.7 (MBZ/Unicom, for aircaft in the immediate area of the airport), 134.2 (Area Control Centre, also Melbourne) and 131.65 (Aerodrome Weather Information Service).

I'd be keen to hear if you hear anything.

Thanks for the tip ! I put 131.650 into my scanner and I can hear the weather, its not very strong, but Ive only got a Hand Held scanner, so I think I might try and get a base antenna for it. Its all changed, a few years ago all I could get was the local Airport frequencys, now its tied up with Melbourne its a lot better.
