RAAF Air Show at Pearce

From the RAAF website:

The Australian Defence Force is pleased to be bringing the Defence Force Air Show program to RAAF Base Pearce on 19 and 20 May 2012.

There will be static, flying and ground displays of Defence capability from Air Force, Army and Navy.

The theme of the Defence Force Air Show is Air Force: Anywhere, Anytime



Aircraft participation
The following military aircraft are expected to participate in the Air Show:

•F/A-18 A/B Classic Hornet
•F/A-18 F Super Hornet
•C-130 Hercules
•C-17A Globemaster
•CL-604 Challenger
•737 BBJ (Boeing Business Jet)
•KC-30A Multi Role Tanker Transport
•AP-3C Orion
•PC-9/A
•Hawk 127
•The Roulettes (comprised seven PC-9/A aircraft)
•RAAF Balloon
•Navy Seahawk
The following civilian and historical aircraft are expected to participate in the Air Show:

•Nanchang
•Winjeel
•Stinson
•Fournier RF4
•T6 Texan (Harvard)
•Rebel 300
The following international aircraft are expected to participate in the Air Show:

•B52 bomber (USAF)
•KC135 Tanker (USAF)
•Flying training display (RSAF)
•C-130H (RSAF)
All aircraft and displays are subject to operational requirements, weather and aircraft availability and may change.

Heard on 6pr radio today that the B-52 is flying from Guam and diverting from a training exercise.There for it is only making a flyby on one day.Any idea on what day that is any one? THANKS

Hey allycat, if I heard correctly on the 6pr interview it is each day for the B52 flyby

Is there any specific frequencies for the RAAF? Or do we have to wait for the day.Yes i have seen the RAAF noteworthy movements.

At Singapore, the B52 flys from wherever its posted, Guam or Deago Garcia does one fly past and leaves back to where it came from.

The indication from the commentators is that it only does it once, however it did make the pass on other days of the show.

There will be a Roulettes display over Cottesloe tomorrow afternoon - good opportunity to see what frequency they're using (has been 136.2 in the past).

Just been down Scarborough to take some photos of the Hercules & Hawk fly past.As we were about to leave we seen the RAAF balloon.Any way we ended up following it.And it landed in a Carine street.The local kids were over the moon.Ill put some pics up latter.

Caught some very scratchy comms on 279.8 this morning. Possibly using callsign 'Cannon' which I understand is assigned to the 1 Sqn F/A-18F.

Roulettes used 136.2 today.
