Newbie with a scanner question

With the new spotting location now open out at the airport I plan on spending a bit of time there taking video and photos. I'd also like to take a scanner with me. What do you recommend I buy? I'm willing to spend around $350 maximum.

Thanks in advance

Hey mate,

Welcome to the forum - I have a Uniden 92XLT - small and sturdy and does the job. You can get it from Dicksmith or any other electronics shops :) and definitley not that expensive :)

Pretty much any scanner will likely do the trick, but considering where you're going and what you're doing, make sure that it specifically mentions "air band" receive capabilities :)

Thanks for the info everyone. I think I'll grab the $129 Uniden from Dick Smith. Seems like a nice and cheap way to start scanning. I can always upgrade later if I want.

Many thanks
