With the new spotting location now open out at the airport I plan on spending a bit of time there taking video and photos. I'd also like to take a scanner with me. What do you recommend I buy? I'm willing to spend around $350 maximum.
Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum - I have a Uniden 92XLT - small and sturdy and does the job. You can get it from Dicksmith or any other electronics shops and definitley not that expensive

Re: Newbie with a scanner question
Pretty much any scanner will likely do the trick, but considering where you're going and what you're doing, make sure that it specifically mentions "air band" receive capabilities

Re: Newbie with a scanner question
Thanks for the info everyone. I think I'll grab the $129 Uniden from Dick Smith. Seems like a nice and cheap way to start scanning. I can always upgrade later if I want.
Many thanks
