Perth Airport Rwy 03 Mound

Post by numloxx »

Well it seems that some people have already gone to the Rwy 03 Mound,
ignoring the signs and fences..

Not sure why the person is that is holding the camera, but they filmed
this video and put it on youtube.

Lets just hope they don't ruin it for the rest of us.

The user's youtube name is Martini109 and if anybody else wants to see
the video he posted its at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnT6E65XVAs

Wind noise is bad, cannot heard who it is, but i'm sure somebody will
know them.

Opened for the anniversary of the Wright Brothers?

who knows, possibly, or just a co-incidence. There is, of course, the stretch of pavement 120' long representing the length of the wright brothers first flight.

I've been waiting the past couple of days for runway 3 to be in use before heading down, but the winds don't seem to turn....

yeah, the wind is generally favouring 21/24 except for around 2 hours in the early morning.

My third time out there in a week this afternoon. Great to see that it is so popular, there was about 30 people there. The only problem I have is that the pilot of the Thai A330 that taxied past didn't stop and say, "Look guys, we've got a couple of free seats so if you aren't doing anything".

Went there a few times with my young fella over the break (that some of us had) and it was really busy each time. Great to see.
Really appreciate what they have provided.

As the place gets locked at night, it's a shame that there is no toilet or at least signage indicating where the nearest toilet is (as per the young fella comment). More shade (summer) rain (winter) protection would be nice, and more seating. Hot dog stand.... live audio from the tower...

Oh, and the pilots could at least wait till further down the runway for V2 :-) Lots of dirt past the keys if they need to stop.... hahahaha

That's me wish list done. :) Hope to see you all there at some point.
End of Line
