The roulettes flew over me this arvo in Swanbourne. I was about 15 seconds too late with the cam and then realised it was on video capture anyway. Might have about 3 seconds of footage though
(Edit: Doesn't matter.. just checked.. it didn't come out at all well. Delete if you want moderator)

IT was posted under the Roulettes thread that they were going to fly down the coast and out to Rotto etc to Jandakot earlier. it was over the scanner from ATC where they were going to fly at 1450 on Freq 118.70 jj
I Noticed at the last second last night around 6-7pm Departures make an all stations call that freq *** *** will cease in 7 mins, I heard it again tonign on 118.70 around 7.30pm but missed it, heard the last didgit being a numeral one,,thought he said 123.1, is that a current used freq ??? listen tomorrow from 1800 onwards , we may hear it said again ?? it is 2 freq given out.. jj

The Following are the Comfirmed frequencies for the Red Bull Air Race 2008
120.85 Race Control to Air
127.90 Air Port Control
I do not doubt what you say, but I had my scanner on those freq yesterday and never heard a peep, even stood by the air control tower watching the controller talking into mic, and never heard a peep, those freq were posted before but beleieved to be ATC freq for Australia day flying, ??

From my Nephew who is a Qantas Captain on B747 and A330, Quote:
Hi John
At the moment the aircraft is planned to be VH-VZA. The fly-past will be done on Sunday and the aircraft will fly to Karratha and back earlier in the day. The actual aircraft on the day may change depending upon availability and serviceability etc.
For your information: VZA is one of the latest series of 737-800’s. The engines are derated to 24000 lb of thrust to save money on maintenance (as opposed to the VX_ series that have 26000 lb of thrust). Other features include some modifications to improve short field takeoff and landing performance (mostly flap changes), and a nitrogen generator that partially pressurises the fuel takes with inert N2.
I hope that this is of some help. Do you plan to use the rego to try and track the aircraft?

Anything I say is my opinion, and has nothing to do with/does not reflect the views of anyone I was/am/will be involved with/employed by/volunteer for/associated with. There, I think that should cover it!
Just heard the jets fly over swan river from my place in Joondanna, "sounded" like they came up the river towards the hills, turned around and came back towards the ocean. I thought i could even hear them then fly up the coastline back to Pearce.
The sound was tremendous you could hear the initial swoosh followed by the low booms of sound ricocheting around the buildings and hills out this way.
