what i want to know is, after they land it - what are they going to do with it... because my guess would be that B would only just be strong enough for it, so could be interesting afterwardsHelitak_670 wrote:It is ex VH-OBN, it will be going into the ex Panama Jacks hangar, which TAFE purchased a while ago. It will be a instructional airframe for training engineers. When it happens is anyones guess. For those who don't know its next to the Fugro hangar, and the tail will be sticking outside of the hanger as its not high enough to house a 737's tail.

Re: a 737 Landing in Jandakot???
I think Nathan meant what are they going to do with it as far as getting it from the runway to the hangar - since it's my understanding that taxiways aren't built to the same tolerances as runways, and a B737 is a touch on the heavy side compared to what's usually taxi-ing out at Jandakotwritten_ficton wrote:Cabin crew trainer and engineer training...

Really? I didn't think there would have been much of a differenceZebedee wrote:I think Nathan meant what are they going to do with it as far as getting it from the runway to the hangar - since it's my understanding that taxiways aren't built to the same tolerances as runways, and a B737 is a touch on the heavy side compared to what's usually taxi-ing out at Jandakotwritten_ficton wrote:Cabin crew trainer and engineer training...

Re: a 737 Landing in Jandakot???
Moving faster could be alot worse actually... if there is a crack in the tarmac from the weight, taxiing faster would worsen the dammage.Tyranus wrote:Really? I didn't think there would have been much of a difference...hehe, ok jokes aside, while the runway might be of a heavier duty? what about the hangar, and the apron, will those be strong enough? if the aircraft moved quickly along the taxiways I'm sure it would be alright, but when it starts turning on the apron etc. will that withstand it?
apron/hanger is another question, and honestly, i dont care - i dont have to taxi past that

Apparently OBN has been cancelled on the CASA register, and is now on the FAA register as N732HV, and is now in Salt Lake cityHelitak_670 wrote:It is ex VH-OBN, it will be going into the ex Panama Jacks hangar, which TAFE purchased a while ago.
