Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
Possibly referring to echelon as the positioning of an aircraft in a formation flight. I think echelon left or right refers to the position diagonally to the rear of the lead aircraft. The pilots among us will probably have a better explaination.
Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
got it in one there... Echelon is a formation position as Always RX said aboveAlways RX wrote:Possibly referring to echelon as the positioning of an aircraft in a formation flight. I will now research my reception in detail before posting any further observations.

Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
wayne I don't think the intention was for you to feel undermined in such a way. While I accept maybe that is the way you feel, Always RX wasn't 100% sure either, and Nafenn only confirmed what it was. Steve has provided you with some more information which hopefully not only you but anyone else can learn from. No one is having a go at you, we all make mistakes...sometimes even I occasionally do

Agreed - this is a place where we can post questions and observations and then see whether others can fill in the gaps in what we know or what we've heard.

Yep, the more we learn, the more we can share! I knew echelon was a formation but didn't know what it actually looked like until Always RX's comment prompted me to find out more and google it, so I've learnt something new too!
Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
My comment was certainly not intended to belittle you Wayne, I am sorry you took it that way. The wording of your post led me to believe you were posing a question and I was just attempting to provide an answer. I hope you will keep on posting.
Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
Sorry about being late with these: 133.1 yesterday, 377.5 today.
Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
Once again I'm several hours late: there was obviously a 'voodoo' fly-over for the fun run. They were on 134.6.
Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
I heard a bit of air-to-air on 136.725 this morning. Quite possibly Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).
Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
133.1 in use today.
Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
263.2 in use today.
Re: RAAF Noteworthy Movements
A new frequency (for me at least) in use yesterday: 246.9
