Take a look at the WA Sporting Car Club's page on becoming an official if it's something that interests you:
http://wascc.com.au/become-an-official.html
There's a number of roles for people out there, everything from scruitineering to trackside marshals to timekeeping. Long days but great fun and very rewarding - you get so much more perspective on motor sport than just being a spectator...

Correct. We don't do regularity events.
We have enough people who are prepared to volunteer their time for one day on a weekend but not enough for two days.

Yes, my paperwork for Sunday arrived yesterday too which was so helpful
All I know is that at our briefing on Sunday morning, our senior official and association president said that we had been asked to provide flaggies for Saturday, but the association had declined as they didn't feel that it was fair to ask our members to staff two different events on the same weekend.
We've been told that if we individually want to go to events like regularity, drifting, motorcycle racing, etc then we are more than welcome to do so, but the WFMA isn't going to be involved in organising and co-ordinating people for these events.

Oh I just assumed Australia Post had routed the mail via Timbuktu ... possibly an uncharitable thought, but it's so easy to blame the postie

Hey Fire Chief,
Looks like the firies and the recovery crews had quite an eventful day yesterday! There were a number of stoppages for people crashing, stalling on the grid, etc. Not to mention car 16 down in the basin. (Whoops, I mean car 91 but on its roof

)
And I missed most of it due to spending most of the day in the paddock rather than out at a flag point.
