You can subscribe to the UNESCO Tsunami warning email list here
https://lists.unesco.org/wws/subscribe/ ... mation-ioc

It's reasonably timely...

I heard about it prior. BOM issues the warnings just like any others and it was on front page of http://www.news.com.au fairly quickly. was also mention of it on ABC news bulletins last night.

To be fair, we weren't in the warning area, so not much need for media to make a song and dance about it here.

True, I heard about it on the news and the BOM website was kept up to date unlike some of the other news sites. It still fails if you are one of those people who don't watch TV or listen to the radio at that time, but what wouldn't?

Unusual tides recorded at Port Kembla and Spring? bay but nothing major thankfully.

I think it was a great chance to see the system in a live environment.
