Hi Folks,
Just a quickie, I opened up my radio just to see what's inside and I have found what looks two be two adjustable knobs. Any idea what they would be for? I don't have a capable camera at the moment, so I will try and describe them.
One has a small plus sign on it and is labeled on the PCB as L6, while the other is L9 and has a minus sign on it. Adjusting the minus sign seems to change the volume in some way? I had a quick play with the + sign while receiving and it didn't seem to do much.
Any ideas?

Sounds like the one is a variable resistor if it's affecting the volume. I remember the walkie talkies I had as a "young" kid had something similar for setting the frequency they operated on but they've long since been tossed so cant really dig them up again.

Re: Uniden UBC120XLT
Could be anything but make sure you put them back where they were originally. You might be throwing the IF off frequency which would account for the change in audio.
