Probably faster than you can drive. Fire goes uphill at an incredible rate let alone with a wind behind it :|

ABC.net.au has a rebroadcast of ABC melbourne but I'm guessing we would be better listening to news radio on the net. You'll get any updates and keep the stream clear for those that need it most.

Update from NSW;

I've included only those fires of major concern, S44 denotes state of emergency. Forecast for tomorrow is similar to Vic today with 40 degrees before cool but gusty change moving through from the south later in the day.

Gosford (Central Coast north of Sydney) S44: Peats Ridge, houses threatened but no known losses, going, 120ha (Police detained suspect)

Muswellbrook (upper hunter valley) S44: 3 Fires, 1 still going, 286ha +, 1 car destroyed

Singleton (lower hunter) S44: 3 ways/Wollemi national park, going, 1000ha + (from experience this will burn till winter)

Bega ( far south coastal range) S44: Jingera Rock,Breached containment but not threatening property, Nearby villages warned of increased risk, 1317ha

Shoalhaven (Southern highlands/ mid South coast) S44: Dingo Road, contained, 2100ha

Tumut (western Snowy mountains) S44: 3 fires being patrolled, 440ha

All of these fires, with perhaps the excpetion of the Muswellbrook fires, are burning in pretty rough country.

Resources from Southern NSW deploying to assist Victoria overnight and tomorrow.

Only 1 house left in Marysville...

I'd loan my Light Tanker if it'd help.

I think everyones thinking that right now. It can be hard to see something like this and not want to help.

There will be a lot of people needing a lot of material stuff and a shoulder to lean on after this is all over. Hopefully someone will set up a relief fund and if they do, they'll be getting something from me.

If I could and you could I'd say let's go over...but work as much as they might want to probably wouldn't let me.

I agree with all that. i keep thinking that if WA vollys are called would work let me go? I would be there in a flash if i could.
My thoughts go out to all residents and fire fighters in SA, VIC and NSW while dealing with this shocking fire season.
