Worlds greatest invention. Problem is expensive in things like light bars...

The guy that perfected the blue LED should be given a medal. Dunno what it is about LED but I know they've had an influence on me ;-)

Oh yeah, this was about RAC :-)
Have seen a couple but not with anything flashing. Nice looking set-up on the back end.

From what I understand the development of the blue LED was, um, "stymied" as the TV manufaturers were worried that any regular person could go and create their own LED TV and sales of the CRT televisions would decrease. Might be an urban myth but it's a good yarn nonetheless.

Mercedes Benz 'Vito' vans... they have LED lightbars just above the bootlid.

they stand out quite well.. but i think these vans could be RAC Vehicle Inspection or RAC Batteries vehicles as i still see a lot of Ford utes as Roadside Assist?!
People call me an "Egotistic Jackass"... I prefer the term "Confident Donkey" --->Donks for short

I was thinking I might buy eleventy gazillion LEDs to do just that. I like a soldering challenge. I'm gonna need more stripboard.

The wiki article also mentioned that LEDs are capable of detecting light as well, something I thought was BS when I saw a circuit a few weeks ago.
