I don't know in this case but I do know that in other states they actually have a "club" that runs the fire & rescue side of things. Maybe contact Barbagello Raceway management and ask them. :)

If you go to www.wascc.com.au and click on the "Officials" link on the left side of the page, there's details for the Competition Drivers Club who fill the fire marshals role on tuning days and race days ... I think.

If not, a call to the WASCC office should set you straight :)

If you check out the WASCC web site you will see that Im the Chief Fire Rescue Marshal.

Our service is accredited with FIA and CAMS

FESA has supplied much of our training as we have had sum of their full time staff and vollies on the crew

Our equipment is specialist equipment used for race car rescue whick is very diffrent to road car rescue as one of WA FESA top Instructors stated.

The Wanneroo Bush Fire Brigade only cover the spectator area at our V8 Round as part of the City of Wanneroo Emergency Plan.

and Paddock/Buildings, not to mention any fires outside of race days (regardless of location). The raceway falls outside of the Metro Gazetted Fire District so the City is responsible for providing fire response and suppression (under the act).

Very Interesting......had fires but never the Bush Fire Brigade turn up.

The complex falls under CAMS and all fires must be attended by their accredited fire marshals. This is why I have acess all areas on my car for the V8's.

The BFB are only there as the City of Wanneroo own the land

I think that CAMS would be responsible for fire suppression on the racing circuit while an activity is going on, but the BFB also has a responsibility under the law, i.e. the Bush Fires Act.

I'm not well enough informed to make a definite "this is how it is" comment, but I suspect that's more or less how things work.

exactly. Any CAMS regulations do not modify/override what is written in the Bush Fires Act.
