Well the challenge is coming up pretty quickly!
For those not in the know, it's like band camp but with rope...
Haha ok maybe not, but it is a gathering of mad orange SES people. From Saturday morning through to Sunday night teams of 5-6 people compete in the challenge. Skills tested are Map and Nav (compass, no GPS allowed); Search; Storm and Water Damage; General Knowledge; Team building; Vertical Rescue (woohooo ); 1st Aid; General Rescue; Operations and camp duties (food prep and washing up etc.)
Last year was a great exercise and those in the area of Boondi which is half way between Kalgoorlie and Southern Cross may get to listen to some UHF comms and possibly some HF as was the case last year.
So who's coming? What team are you coming in?
I'm joining in with Wanneroo to form a team, don't just look for the young one, Wanneroo are mostly young just look for the guy with Stirling on his name badge.
Looking forward to hopefully meeting some other SES personnel from here at the challenge.

Not sure what the HF frequencies in use will be, varies depending on who they want to talk to.
UHF frequencies are available in the Storms 2008 in Fesa section.
