Codewords

Post by Antt »

Hey anyone know of any codewords that get used on the radios that they can reveal i know SES uses them alot when we are at a major incedent like some are

"Search Team Leader to my location" This means that the person(s) have found something of great importance and usually require some Police backup or alike.
This one is used because under NO circumstances does the STL leave there post no for any reason what so ever....

Also i have heard the police refer to someone as a 253 what the hells a 253???

dunno bout a 253, crash cars are 250, 251, 252, don't think there are any marked as 253

Job code 453 is recover found property, but this would normally be priority 4 or 3, not really a 253

My brother is a security guard at a shopping center he was working night shift when someone tried to breakin and get the safe (allegedly) they pushed him over and tried to run him over while he was on the phone to the police. When he gave his statement they were doing the paper work and referered to the POI's as 253's

My dad's the deputy controller od SES in my area so i've sort of grown up with it.

These are best codes i've heard over the years

CODE= "What's your poison" DEFINITION= "I shall bring refreshments"
CODE= "require a transport upgrade" DEFINITION= "This new ford courier is crap"
CODE= "Unit 9, your mrs is on the ringer" DEFINITION= "You're in the shit"
CODE= "Base, i need direction to your location" DEFINITION= "I forgot my refidex"
CODE= "My ETA is 30mins" DEFINITION= "When i stop yakkin'
CODE= "Need to return to base for more equipment" DEFINITION= "I forgot my wallet and can't pay for pies"

etc. :wink:

In Brisbane, a code 504 is a mentally ill person. It gets used a lot like this "informant may be 504"
