New traffic penalties for 2008

Still think more visible police presence would be more effective, but revenue makes governments happy and pays for the Grant Dorrington and his organisation, and it takes only 1 brain cell to think up the the same thing all the time. "Large fines saves lives".

My vote is still to have dedicated traffic police. I'd happily pay more tax if the fines were kept at sensible levels, but the number of police were increased drastically so there was "one on every corner" so to speak...

At the moment, there's so many incidences of poor or dangerous driving behaviour that go unpunished because the police we have can't be everywhere at once...

in the northwest metro we only have two traffic units out at night :shock:
