Royal Flying Doctor Service Funding

Post by gkoutlis »

Hi all;

Not sure if anyone saw on channel7 - featuring the Royal Flying Doctors last night, saying that they were struggling with funds for new equipment/aircraft etc...

Does anyone have the video for what they showed last night?

I think we should try and do our bit to donate a small bit to them - to help them out...

Any ideas?

I could probably do a triple bypass if I had an instruction manual and set my mind to it.

In all fairness it is an excellent gesture on his behalf but there is a lot of uncharted territory with insurances etc. And what if every tom dick and harry decided they were going out to voluntarily direct some traffic because they had nothing better to do. They could end up in fisticuffs over where traffic should be directed to.

Speaking of tow truck drivers I saw one today on the roe highway bridge over south st. His truck was facing east parked in the west bound emergency lane with a red ford connected. It appeared that he had hooked up and was going to drive back the wrong way then chuck a u turn into the exit ramp. There was a traffic bike officer standing there writing out a ticket with a pissed off tow truck driver standing with his arms crossed.

The RFDS have a good historical/information display at their Kalgoorlie HQ. Anyone seen if they have one at Perth? If so we should all go and have a look at the great work they do. You never know - it might be you needing their services one day.
