Nice to see David Barclay contributing to the site. Just to give you an update on the idea of a Forensic Science Agency, I am having a meeting in the next few weeks with the Ministers responsible for the agenices that will be affected by its creation. It is fair to say that while there seems to be an understanding of the value of such an agency there is still the(usual) bureaucracy to work through at agency level. While Police see its creation and its independence as critical I think we have yet to convince others.
I have no doubt that the current CCC Inquiry into Mallard will give its formation some impetus.
