Hi John , have you got the instruction manual for the scanner? If not check out this link.

It is a full version of the original manual. This is a .pdf file so you will need adobe acrobat reader or similar program to read it. If you have any further specific questions after that please go ahead and ask... there are plenty of helpful cats in this crew.
