I keen an eye on a website that tracks earthquakes, seems there was a big one tonight a fair way out in the ocean. Chance are we might see a small tsunami sometime tonight or tomorrow morning.

We don't have a dedicated reporting agency for tsunamis here, do we? If I recall correctly that's what half the publicity was about when the Boxing Day one hit Indonesia...

Funny that the misses said the earth moved about then... i just thought it was because we were having great sex...

I think we have sensor things out in the ocean that report if a big wave is on its way in? Anyone?

Looking at the link Fastlane provided us the strength of the earthquake should not cause a tsuami . This is why: "Any event: 6.5 to 7.5 M may cause a Locally Destructive Tsunami". The strength of the earthquake was mesured as 6.1 M. Should be nothing to worry about. I am guessing that if the strenght of the earthquake was above 6.5M people living near the coast would be warned of a possible tsuami as an earthquake has happened at x amout of distance at sea. Let just hope it never happens tho.
