I thought she was joking, but this lady isn't a VFAS member, but a good friend - and she said it wasn't a joke, so not sure what or who they were evacuating ??? I have no idea - so its good to have "contacts" but - makes you hunger for more info - which is scarce at the moment...

Sounds interesting, the storm front is fast approaching the metro coast.
Garden Island often gets evacuated due to high winds/storms etc. Happens quite frequently as the bridge that runs over to the island is quite dangerous to navigate in those conditions.

They often send people home early in cases like this, especially persons who have family/kids on the mainland in case the bridge isn't reopened for some time.

It also means a day off work for those supposed to be coming on shift :D

1. Lights out at the Kwinana Freeway off ramp and Cranford Ave
2. Accident on the corner of Willeri Drive and Bannister Road
3. Cement Bags on Great Eastern Highway Perth direction just after Brearly Avenue

Alternatives
1. Take care through there
2. Use Roe Highway from Nicholson Road to South Street
3. Use Guildford Road Between Great Eastern Highway and Garret road and Garret Road between Guildford Road and Great Eastern Highway
